Republicans for Obama

President Obama can stop campaigning to be reelected in November. The MLB season does not begin until April, but republicans are hitting home runs for the president.

Real unemployment is in the double digits. Housing starts are slow due to the number of foreclosed homes on the market. Cities grapple with deficits and pension obligations. Health care costs continue to climb. Infrastructure across the nation crumbles. Federal deficit projections continue to rise under all republican proposals.

With all these challenges what is the GOP focused on?  Reproduction and contraception. That is not a typo. Republicans who claim to be for strong growth in the economy are not talking production that is associated with GDP. This smaller government party is busy in 2012 writing legislation telling women what they can and can not do with their bodies. Government gets bigger with each regulation enacted. Dana  Milbank asks the bottom line question in his Sunday column. (see Tweet)  He asks: “Republicans are aware that women vote, right?”

Dana, I think they do know. The Grand Old Production (GOP) party is campaigning for President Obama and are encouraging women to vote for him in November. This is the only explanation I can think of for not focusing on the pressing issues this nation faces.

I have a follow up question. How is the GOP going to win independent votes with this narrow focus? They simply won’t. Republicans for Obama are tripping over themselves.
